Photo Matching Authentication

Kryterion goes above and beyond to ensure the identity of the test taker. First, a digital photo match of the test taker occurs utilizing advanced facial recognition software that is used to compare photos captured during enrollment, and at the time of the test launch to ensure the authenticity of the test taker. The photos are then stored with the test taker's records. In addition to photo matching, we take further measures to ensure the authentication of the test taker with a patented software that differentiates individuals based on their keystroke patterns and recognizes individuals based on their keystroke patterns.

By measuring the pattern of keystroke rhythms (time spent on the keys and between the keys), the technology can recognize an individual with accuracy, similar to fingerprinting, but without the need for a separate device and without the privacy concerns fingerprinting can raise.

Finally, if your institution has another means of identifying an individual, that picture or document can also be scanned and uploaded to the system and stored with the test taker's information for additional authentication.
